Diabetes Medication Question

I finally talked to my doctor's office about my medication. They

first started me with 500mg xr with my evening meal. I questioned

this because I wake up my count is okay, but as soon as I eat, the

counts rise. I assumed that I should take something with lunch and

dinner. My dad takes his pills with each meal. In the effort to

lower the numbers, I've been eating slightly better, more water, less

juice. More protein, less carb. I have been taking a glucophage with

each meal and my average lowered from 200 to 160. Both of which are

still high, but better than they could be.

MY QUESTION is... they upped my dosage from one pill to three but my

doctor's office is telling me to take ALL three pills with my evening

meal. This doesn't sound right to me? Anybody else take 1500mg at

one pop? I would assume with each meal??
