Guest guest
Hi Renae, I just read your post and had to respond. My common channel is 125 cm, too. My starting weight was similar to yours (I was 250 lbs.) and as of today, not quite three months post-op, I have lost 45 pounds. I'd say we are losing at about the same pace. I'd hardly call losing 10 lbs. a month failing!!! I know, I know, you and I may not be losing as fast as others on this list, but think about it THIS way: WHAT OTHER DIET HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON THAT YOU WERE ABLE TO LOST TEN POUNDS A MONTH AND KEEP IT OFF? That's what I ask myself the MINUTE I start comparing. Heck, the fact is, I couldn't even lose TWO pounds a month and keep it off!! Regarding the length of the common channel, my surgeon, who is also a BIG promoter of the RNY, told me from the beginning that he would NOT make my common channel any shorter than 100 cm based on the fact that I was " only " 250 lbs. to start. He felt it was too dangerous. I respected that decision, and I'm not regretting it one bit. I'm just SO thrilled to FINALLY have a way to get this weight off of me, once and for all. I hope that this helps you somehow, and that you give yourself some credit for doing a fantastic job so far!!!!
