When feeding, we roll up a blanket and put it between our daughters legs. And

when carrying in a cradle position we put our one hand THROUGH/between her legs

to avoid the bar. Its actualyl quite comfortable. Hope this helps!

Welcome! :)

I'd carry / cradle him by slipping my arm through between his legs. It's a bit

ackward at first but you'll get the hang of it!

handling a baby with the FAB

Hi. I am the mother of a beautiful 6 week old boy who just came out of

his final cast for a unilateral clubfoot and is now in the DBB. I am

new to this website but have read many loving and helpful messages and

tips posted by members. I was just wondering whether anyone could give

me some advice on how to carry my newborn in a way that is comfortable

for him now that he is in the FAB. I find it difficult to hold him in

a cradle position since his feet are set so far apart from each other

in the bar. So I end up carrying him upright all the time, which

prevents me from seeing his face and interacting with him. I also

wonder if he's uncomfortable when I'm nursing him with his legs

sticking out so stiffly like that. Are there any tricks that someone

can share about holding/handling a baby in the bar? TIA.

Congratulations on your little boy and reaching this milestone.

That's often how I held my daughter.. one arm arm through the legs

supporting the back/bottom, other cradling the shoulders and head.

Though she was older than your little boy. It does seem that upright

would be hard, with such a tiny one. Just keep trying to find what

works best for you.

Nursing .. may daughter often had a foot propped up in the air or

sometimes leaning against my chest/shoulder. With my arm through her

legs, supporting her back. She also would sleep this way, sometimes

with a foot in the air.

You will find that they are amazingly adaptable, so that it doesn't

bother them whatever position they're in. Their legs are relaxed

after all.. it's not as if they're 'holding' one up.

After a short while this will be second nature to you both.

Take care,
