Guest guest
Hello, My daughter is just over 4 mo and we are going for our first (free) consult at Cranial Tech on Monday. We are not sure if she is going to need a band as of now. We just thought it would be wise to have her assessed as soon as possible. We have been trying the repositioning techniques over the past week and have seen a difference already. I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on what to expect for this free consult visit. Will they do a scan/image of her head? Thank you, Amy
Guest guest
Amy, My family just recently went through an initial " free " visit (and now a second visit) at Cranial Tech (CT) for my youngest son who is 13 months. The initial visit takes roughly 1 - 1.5 hours. They take several photographs of your child's head shape for evaluation and take a series of measurements to assess the degree/severity of the child's plagio/brachy and any assymetry. Our clinician was fantastic. She discussed with us what we had done with repositioning our son when he was an infant and our concerns regarding his head shape now. She also took us through the pros and cons of banding, what we could reasonably expect if we decided to band, showed us examples of bands and photos of children who had been successfully treated. She then made recommendations on a course of treatment for my son. She answered any and all questions we could come up with during that visit. My husband and I felt we were in very competent hands at CT. We just yesterday completed our second visit at CT for the DSi scan in preparation for getting his band. The DSi scan is the second step which produces a 3D image of the child's head for them to use to produce the band. We're getting his first DOC band on 4/16. Our CT experiences to date have been very, very positive. Hope this helps. , 13 months - DOC Band candidate , 3 years > > Hello, > My daughter is just over 4 mo and we are going for our first (free) consult at Cranial Tech on Monday.
