Guest guest
Hey, I'm so happy to hear the site is alive and well! s. Ms. Reese: Thank you for your feedback. The University of Iowa indeed knows what an invaluable resource the information about Dr. Ponseti's work is to families of children with clubfoot. In fact, all of the information about the Ponseti Method previously housed on vch.org is being restored using the UI Health Care website and the content can be found at: http://www.uihealthcare.com/topics/medicaldepartments/orthopaedics/clubfeet/inde\ x.html In addition, an e-mail will be sent to the list of physicians who have been trained in the Ponseti method, and they will be asked to direct their patient-families to the new version of the site. Families will also be directed there by online search engines. Thank you again for your interest. I am glad to hear your sons have had favorable outcomes. It's come to my attention that the U of I has lost it's Virtual Hospital web site. I feel this is a very crushing blow to the entire Children's Hospital as parents across the globe have traveled to your hospital as a direct result of the information found on that site. I am one of those parents. We have been traveling from Oklahoma to Iowa for the past five years to get both of our son's treated at the Ponseti Club Foot Clinic. Prior to learning about Dr. Ponseti via the internet my oldest son was headed for major surgery on his feet. It was Dr. Ponseti who helped us avoid that operation, but it was the U of I web site that taught me enough about club foot and the Ponseti Method in general to convince me to travel to yoru facility even though it was a nearly 700 mile drive. My 2nd son also had club foot, and was treated by Dr. Ponseti. As a result, I am very active in the campaign to help other parents avoid surgery on their children, sending them always to the Virtual Hospital for information that is not available else where - and the majority of these parents end up traveling to Iowa City, to your hospital, for treatment. The web site pays off for your hospital and seems such a small price to pay for such an enormous amount of information about the quality care people can get there. Please let us know how we can help convince your budgeting department that the web site is directly responsible for saving countless babies. Sincerely, ee Reese mother of 2 clubfoot sons Webbers Falls, OK This e-mail (including any attachments) is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 USC. 2510-2521.
