Guest guest
I second that! My childhood dentist wanted to remove four teeth (not wisdoms) and put me in braces, no mention of surgery. That was back in 1974 or '75. When I started investigating this more recently in 2000 (after being referred to a TMJ specialist by my new family dentist), the ortho said that removing teeth, for me anyway, was not necessary, and that he could do the same job without extractions. In my case, it paid off to be more cautious, especially since it didn't seem necessary to do in my early 20s back in the mid 70s. By the time I was in charge of my healthcare, I learned to ask more questions. It's a trait that seems to be more and more valuable these days. Good luck, . I hope you find a good ortho to advise you. > > Hello, my name is and I joined this group to know what I > > might be going through for my jaw surgery. > > > > I grew with a weak chin that progressively turned worse.
