Guest guest
Yes, that would be me although I've never had it formally diagnosed as amelogenesis imperfecta. I just complained about my teeth sensitivity to my dentist and she explained that it was due to many years of wearing braces which cause the enamel to break down. Not sure if that is the same thing. Amelogenesis imperfecta makes my mouth sound even more imperfect than it already is:-( Sara > > > > Just curious if anybody in this forum has been diagnosed with > > this. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies. It's a rare genetic disease that robs you of enamel. It affects 1 in 14,000. I happen to be that one. Treatment for me is braces, ortho, gum lengthening, and crowns on all my teeth. It's nothing serious, but in the long run, the teeth deteriorate easier than most without the protective enamel. I was born with it, and I've never met anybody else with it. I think it will be about another year before I can finally smile like the " Enzyte " guy on the commercials > > > > > Just curious if anybody in this forum has been diagnosed with > > > this.
