Drat and double drat!! The lunch in Vienna, Virginia is oh, so close

and happenin' as I type... and I was hoping to leave work and run

over just to meet the Vitalady, but duty calls. Who the hell

scheduled that 1 pm meeting today...oh, yeah, me! If it wasn't for

the 50 plus people showing up and me in charge of it I would have

cancelled it in a heart beat...

, sorry to miss you...if your ever in this part of Virginia

again, please let us know.

CJ, you are a riot!!

an event rarely witnessed by us - the outside temperature gauge read

over 100 degrees. Coupled with bumper-to-bumper traffic on the

Garden State Parkway, this would have killed a lesser vehicle (and it

did as we saw many on the side of the road) . A silent prayer of

thanks was said to the workers at Oldsmobile for installing the

cooling system in the van correctly.

stop the VitaTour, however, as the weary travelers pressed on from

their tour stop in Clifton NJ. When the group arrived in Mount

Laurel 90 minutes late, they found several VitaGroupies still

patiently waiting for the VitaCouple and their entourage. After a

delicious Mexican feast care of Don Pablo's, and much good

conversation and fellowship, the final leg of Day 1's journey was

begun. After crossing into Delaware and then land, we arrived to

a point within 5 miles of our hotel. At which time traffic abruptly

stopped dead. " 2 left lanes closed 2 miles ahead " read the sign, but

it might as well have read " so close and yet so far "

or " BUAHAHAHAHA! " or " . 35 minutes later we emerged from the

construction zone and headed to the hotel. I guess land DOT has

a sense of humor.

> Miles traveled: 570

> Length of day: 16 hours (departed 8 AM arrived hotel approx 12

midnight)

> Stops made: 4

> Protein shakes sampled: lost count, but many Dixie cups gave their

lives today for the greater good....

> Number of times CJ made the " looking at my watch " gesture to the

VitaCouple: 999,999,999

> Number of Cocoa Puffs thrown at driver by 3-year old son: approx. 50

> Number of Cocoa Puffs actually eaten by above-mentioned 3-year old:

considerably less

> Cost of toll on the pitifully short Delaware Turnpike: $2.00 (for 9

miles, but I suppose they were nice miles)

> Cost of 20-ounce bottle New Tropical Sprite Remix that 3-year old

demanded at NJ rest stop: $1.50 (kid watches way too much TV)

> Being able to spend quality time with and Don: priceless
