We actually modged podged it and put fabric with a cute pattern on top and then modge podged over that. It was pretty easy and didn't take long to dry.

ooh, that sounds easier than paint! Do you have any pictures? I've never used

modge podge, but my husband is a product designer and the artsy one of the 2 of

us. So, i might pick the fabric and let him do the work! Is it modge podge

pretty self explanatory??

I'll try to get pictures up soon. Modge Podge is pretty simple and it dries hard so that it almost looks like it was painted.

Oh yeah, definitely. That would be so cute!! Just make sure that it's the thin cotton, and not something else that's silky or thick. We used a pink hawaiian shirt design. I will try to get a pic up soon so you can see it. I'm horrible at posting pictures, even for my family to see.

Fabric is a SUPER cute idea!!! Did the fabric buckle or make any kind of

creases considering it's going over a rounded surface? I REALLY like your idea

and may have to copy it!!

It did crease a little in the back because it's rounded, but you don't really notice it unless you see it up close. Also, I think if we had just cut that part of the fabric and folded it over somehow it would have decrease that.

Also, I would love to say that the idea was all my husband's and mine, but we actally got it from a mother in the waiting room of CT while we were waiting for Avery to get the helmet fitted for the first time. Her little girl had it on her helmet and we thought it was so cute that we copied it from her. I guess that's how these things work though.
