Guest guest Posted May 17, 2004 Report Share Posted May 17, 2004 Hey guys, having a difficult day dealing with my hospital. I called today and talked to the lobbyist for Vanderbilt. After trying to get answers for weeks from the person who works in my surgeons office and having no luck. Within hours of talking to the lobbyist I got a call from someone in the pre-certification department. Come to find out they are still waiting on paperwork that the person in the surgeon's office was supposed to send them on the 26th. As a matter of fact I asked them to hold off from sending the stuff to pre-cert until the 26th so that I could get signed up with the nutritionist before hand because Aetna requires it. Well she waited until the 26th and then sent the paperwork without what I asked them to wait on. And every time that I have called her she has blamed it on pre-cert that they were backed up and she could not tell me when they would send my paperwork. And she would not check for me. She just told me that there was nothing she could do to speed them up. Well the lady that called me today was not very happy with those responses either when it was the lady in the surgeon's office's fault that my stuff has not gone to Aetna yet. I gave her the fax number and hopefully my paperwork will be faxed to Aetna today. I will let you guys know. Thanks for letting me vent. It just makes me so angry when the person who is supposed to be in charge of getting you approved doesn't seem to care enough to send all the information to the people working on my case and then doesn't care enough to even follow up on it for me.
