THe lacteeze treated cream is considerably less sweet, just like the yogurt is less sweet after 24 hours. Because it is lactose-sugar reduced. Guest guest
The more fat the milk has in it, the less lactose it has, and thus the less sugar it will have once the lactose is broken down. I used fresh heavy cream treated this way in my coffee. You only need a little, and it makes a great cup.See if you react to it, but make sure to use heavy cream and give it time for the drops to do their thing. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, shaking or stirring a couple of times. Then you may add this to coffee. Because the lacteeze breaks down the milk sugar, this is not sweet, like cream, so you may need some honey or saccharin. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Guest guest
Yes 24 hours is on the directions. Usually I would let it sit for longer. One time I thought I would try it early and reacted to it so I never tried that again. Sweet and low sales a liquid version I find at my local mom and pop grocery store. Just google liquid sweet and low for online sources. Misty kimble Cd no meds SCD 2 years Sent from my iPhone

Please let me know as > I am eager to get started on this!!!!!>> You probably don't want to hear this, but by far the best approach would be to get used to drinking coffee unsweetened, just as those of us that drank coffee with milk or cream had to get used to drinking it black (and weak, at first). It can be done! (I never thought I'd get used to black coffee -- and now I am at the point at which I can use Lactaid-treated cream but I don't very often. Black coffee has the advantage of allowing you to really taste the coffee, and if it's really good coffee -- as mine is: I both roast and grind my own beans -- it's a treat every morning.Personally I can't stand the taste of any artificial sweetener, but nor are they good for you -- as you yourself admit! :-) (though saccharin isn't nearly as bad as aspertame) One other thing. If you look for a very light honey such as that that comes from acacia flowers, it has none of the characteristic sort of musty honey taste (or smell) that many darker honeys have, and you may find that it will work in the interim, and then you can gradually add less and less to your coffee. If you can't find acacia flower honey, look for any other honey that's very light colored: not amber but very pale colored.n ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers.
