Guest guest
Hey Folks, About three weeks or so ago, I was asked if I would be ok with talking to a reporter from the Philadelphia Inquirer since they wanted to run an article in the Health and Science section about Gastric Bypass Surgery and the after effects of it. For those of you that know me, it was a no-brainer and of course I agreed to the interview. I had a 2 hour telephone interview about two weeks ago with a delightful reporter, we spoke about all sorts of things, what prompted me to have the surgery, how did people treat me before the surgery, were my closest friends and family supportive? how has my life changed since the surgery both physically and mentally and emotionally. Well as I said for those that know me you can easily see how this call went on for two hours. At the end of the call I was told that she wasnt sure if she was going to use my story as she had others she was interviewing as well and if they used it they would get back to me. Yesterday, I got an email from a photographer with the Inquirer, its seems I made it into the final edited story and they wanted to get some " after " pictures of me. He had today and tomorrow available as the pictures needed to be done by Wednesday for deadline. Since I now work in Conneticuit I didnt have much wiggle room on my schedule he came to my house this morning at 730AM. Took pictures of me getting ready to leave the house and then followed me to Trenton station and took pictures there with me walking through the station, buying my ticket, waiting for the train and then boarding the train. Now let me set the stage, he as all this VERY professional equipment, swapping out lenses and is running ahead of me and then walking backwards to get " action " pictures. I felt like a movie star! And I know that the people in the station were wondering who the hell I was! This was SO MUCH FUN I had to share it with you all. The story will be in next Monday (August 11th) Philadelphia Inquirer in the Health and Science section. I hope its a good one. I havent seen what she has written or actually what the pictures look like (I kept telling him to be sure to get the collarbones and to remind me to " suck it in " before he took pictures. I sent him a link to my " before pictures that I have stored on Shutterfly, and Im not sure what he will use from there. If youd like to see them here is the link http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b3251aeb8471 So wish me luck, and if you want, I will gladly sign autographs at the next meeting...... Just kidding of course.... Love ya all and loving life today C LAP RNY Dr 6.5.02 down 110 pounds start size 24 current size
