Guest guest
I did eat a piece of my son's birthday cake...Not quite a Krispy Kreme but close enough. I'll see if that gets things moving. Meli ============================================================================== Meli, I think you've done great !!! Since you can detect fluid retention, you know where the gain is coming from. I hope the cake worked. You are my role-model now, you know, so you stay the course and keep losing .. that's an order ) Just about a month now before I see Dr. Hess, and I'm getting very excited. I posted yesterday, asking if there was a location I could go to to hear from post ops a bit further out than 1 or 2 years and never got an answer. Do you happen to know if there is such a site ? I really think you're doing wonderfully. Plateaus are a constant part of losing weight, so please don't get discouraged ... you'll be where you want to be before you know it. Bye, Donna
Guest guest
((Donna))) Thank you so much for your encouraging words!! And to think I'm someone's role model (blush!) I dont know of a specific site with folks further out than a year or so, but there is about 100 patient profiles on the DS information zone, and perhaps you could e-mail some of those folks. I'm so excited for you, and right beside you all the way!! Love, Meli -- > Meli, > > I think you've done great !!! Since you can detect fluid retention, you > know where the > gain is coming from. Guest guest
Steve, I gave that nasty Aunt Flo the big heave-ho with a partial hysterectomy last summer. I do still have my ovaries though, so I suupose I could still have the other associated issues... Guest guest
Donna, There is DS Postop_Friends which is a mishmosh of post-ops anywhere from recent post-op to years out. There is also DS_Results, which I believe is 6 months and beyond. Then there is DS_PostOp_Problems..keep in mind that one is just focused on problems, although most of them tend to be from recent post- ops..there is also OSSG-Graduate and that's for patients a year out, but that is mostly an RNY list. It is a good eye opener, because you see some RNY'ers after being a year or two out, post about having to diet again because they're gaining weight. It's definitely an eye opener and a confirmation on why I'm choosing the BPD/DS.
