I had my gallbladder out in 1988. After eating heavy meals, and even sometimes at random, I would have urgent, crampy BM's, and the stools would be mixed with yellow liquid (bile) Sorry, too much info I know....Anyway, Dr Hess explained that this is not uncommon after gallbladder removal, that the bile is dumped immediately upon eating into the GI tract, often in too large a quantity. Bile is a laxative, hense the urgent crampy stools. Since my surgery, I've not had that happen even once. I too thought I had IBS, and I think I had some, but mostly my problem was the bile. Now I'm cured. 1-2 stools a day is no big deal. Meli -46lb 6/
