Initially I lived in Fort , AR and took my oldest to a doctor there (Dr.

Buie) - that sort of ended poorly and after about 20 months I finally wised up

that his " treatment " wasn't working. That is when I happened to find this group

who educated me about Dr. Ponseti. Using Angel Flights, I flew to Iowa City to

see him and finished 's treatment there. That was nearly 6 years ago.

When my 2nd son was born two years ago, we lived here in Webbers Falls, OK (a

fly speck on the map), we went directly to Iowa City because I knew then that

there really wasn't an alternative to be had in our area. Well, the alternative

wasn't acceptable to me anyway so we went to Iowa.

The Ponseti Method in Iowa City (meaning it was performed properly) corrected

Everett in 5 weeks. Compare that to nearly 2 years with the " other guy " in

Arkansas who couldn't get correction acceptable enough for to even walk.

With my 3rd baby due soon, I am probably going to go to St. Louis Missouri to

see Dr. Dobbs at the Shrine Hospital because we just can't afford paying out of

pocket in Iowa again.

Next to a trip to Iowa City, St. Louis/Dr. Dobbs is really the next best

alternative from all the information I have gathered so far. In your situation

that might be the way you want to lean as well as neither you or the state would

have to pay (I assume) for the baby's treatment there. And Angel Flights is a

wonderful way to get there if you need transportation although I have heard

Shrine can help pay for transportation at times. Also, there are places to

stay for very little, like Mc Houses and Shrine has it's own type

of house available also.

Hope some of that helps.

My foster son has clubfeet on both. This is his second time he been

in the DBB. The first time was around 4 months old, he started the

cast when he was around 1 month old, in August started the casting

process. Had surgery in October wore cast for 3 more weeks. Got the

DBB, wouldn't leave them on, sore on one of his foot. I call

orthotics, they made me apportment, His PT told me to keep them off

until I saw him. Went to the app. he said his left foot has

slipped, he call the Dr. I went to the orthopedic, they started the

cast back, he had the cast on until Jan 18, went back to othotics,

said the right foot is a little stiff. Well I haven't had much

sleep, when he gets in the DBB he don't eat much he loses weight,

gets sick. I called the Dr. Yesterday they wasn't much help, I
