Guest guest
On the gfcfdiet.com site they list some acceptable toothpastes. I started buying Tom's of Maine-Silly Strawberry. It's natural. My daughter didn't like it much at first bc she was used to the sweet toothpastes. After I told her it was strawberry she accepted it. It doesn't taste great. She probably couldn't identify the flavor. :-) My 1 yr old doesn't know about the good tasting toothpastes, so he was an easy sell. It's more $$ at around $5 at the grocery store, but little kids don't need a lot, so it will last a long time. That was something I didn't even tell my husband about. It's called " information overload " and best accomplished on our own. Is this DH bashing day/night or what?! And tomorrow is only Sunday.... Janelle ps I think there is a gfcf line of the more popular brands-crest or whatever. I just thought I might as well avoid all the other words I couldn't pronounce while I was at it. Guest guest
>On the gfcfdiet.com site they list some acceptable >toothpastes. I'm actually looking for toothpaste that DOES contain gluten or casein. My husband doesn't believe that any toothpaste would contain gluten or casein, and won't leave the issue alone until I prove it to him. Just a little background, my husband spent 15 years as an auditor and let's just say that is about the worst profession to be married to when it comes to alternative therapies. I spent 15 months trying to convince him to try the diet, and even though he has been proved wrong be the allergy testing, he still continues to make me " prove " everything or he won't comply. Thanks for letting me vent.

Guest guest
We use Tom's or Nature's Gate (the later has corn starch) as we are now avoiding flouride. However, there are several " big name " brands that are gfcf. You'll find a listing of gfcf personal care items at www.gfcfdiet.com. Good luck tomorrow. Hope you sail through withdrawal! > Hi, > I'm new to the group. Tomorrow is D-Day (actually GF-day) for my 3- > year-old autistic son, .... Guest guest
* We are avoiding flouride so I get for LJ " Children's Tooth Gel " by WELEDA that I got at my HFS. Its formulated without flouride, detergents, foaming agents, synthetic colors, flavors or preservatives. It is GFCF. Guest guest
Thanks Denisse; maybe the next time you buy it, you could please send me the ingredients. At least it doesn´t have soy, that´s good news! Thanks again. Carmen
Guest guest
Couldn't you use baking soda(YUCK!!!) to brush teeth or even just water if you really had to? I know that the brushing is supposed to be the main objective. Personally, I can't imagine a child ever letting you brush their teeth with bsoda, but I know my kids love to walk around with their toothbrushes and brush, brush, brush. I know, I know, it's not very safe, but it keeps them quiet. JUST KIDDING!!! Janelle
