Guest guest
I baked my first loaf of bread since going GFCF 2 weeks ago and everyone in the family liked it!!! I used my Regal KitchenPro bread machine and followed the directions for the gluten free white bread except for some substitutions. Here is the revised recipe (all ingredients at room temperature): egg substitute for 3 eggs (make sure it adds up to 2/3 cup)* 1 2/3 cup soymilk 3 tablespoons canola oil 1 tsp. cider vinegar 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast 3 1/4 cups Bette Hagman flour mix 2 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tablespoon soy lecithin (original recipe did not call for this) 3 tablespoons sugar *If using eggs it says each egg should be 1/4 cup Mix wet ingredients in bowl. Mix dry ingredients in another (large) bowl. Pour wet ingredients in pan. Pour dry ingredients on top of wet. Set machine to whole wheat setting. When done, remove pan and let cool for 15 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and let cool completely before slicing. Note: Both kids thought it tasted like regular bread. Other than being heavy, I think this bread is very close to wheat bread.
