Guest guest
sometimes if I have skipped breakfast because I have gotten too busy here at work, I do as the lunch hour approaches but to just sit and think about food I would have to say no. I drink a lot of water so it keeps me pretty full. I think in some way, your thoughts about food change the more the weight comes off. You start to think about other things in life that you have not been able to do that you now want and plan on doing. You really begin to enjoy the fullness of life. For some it may be different but everyone is different so I am sure you will be getting a lot of different thoughts on this. Be encouraged though because you will go through a whole lot of emotional and psychological changes as well as hormonal (not sure if men have this hormonial issues as much as women but I am not a doctor so don't quote me on this). Guest guest
Thinking about food doesnt ever stop. What one hopes will happen is that our relationship with food will. We strive toward seeing food as fuel instead of comfort. Some reach that place and some still struggle. I am definitely one that still struggles. I too eat to soothe emotions. I eat to relax, to celebrate, from boredom, from stress, etc. Im struggling to get a handle on that. I have begun to see a therapist who hopefully will help me become more aware of emotions that trigger me to eat and come up with alternatives. Im trying meditation to help unwind after work instead of eating. I havent started it yet..waiting for the CDs to come in the mail LOL. But I think if you can really use your 10% time to learn these new habits you will be ahead of the game. I will be 3 years out in August. I dropped to 150 and now hover around 165 no matter what I do. I know my eating habits are getting better...but there is alot of room for improvement still. By far my biggest downfall is Starbucks. I've learned that Im not one who can have just one. Im needing to go cold turkey once again. It will be important for you to follow a schedule post op. Schedules and routines help in keeping us on track. That is my problem, I am so busy that my routines get shot to hell and then I eat whatever..like last night at my son's little league game...chili fries( not a whole order but enough to do damage). I need to start packing a little cooler on game nights because I go straight from work, that way I will follow my plan. Never skip breakfast....its important to get your three meals a day. Hope this helps > > I think I am a emotional eater. I know im fat, but I also have to eat on a schedule. Guest guest
Yes, eventually, although not immediately, you will probably think about food as you did before. Laurie __________________________________________________
