Guest guest
hi... thank you for all the support. i am very glad that there's this e-group that i can always consult or just confide in regarding JM's club foot. it is really helping us a lot. jenny, thanks for the site. we visited it and we hope to learn more about georgi's experiences. it made us very hopeful. and yes, dr. aguilar said she will email dr. ponseti regarding the treatment of allison. thanks, kimberly. we are really crossing our fingers that JM's foot bones will " cooperate " with the treatment. when dr. aguilar asked JM if he is ready with the procedure, he eagerly said yes. he was even very quiet and very cooperative during the casting. when my husband was having a hard time carrying him up to his bedroom because of the weight of the cast, he said, " Papa, you can do it. you're a macho man. You can do it! " then, after two hours, i guess, he was becoming bored with his cast, he said, " Papa, my foot is already straight. You can now remove the cast! " . my husband had to explain that we cannot remove the cast because it will only return to being club foot again. he frowned. at bedtime, JM had a hard time trying to sleep. he put his casted foot on one of the pillows and said, " Papa, I can't sleep. You should remove my cast, I can't feel the pillow anymore! " and so we had to explain again. he was able to sleep finally after several attempts on several sleeping positions. now i am starting to think of ways how he can entertain himself to be able to get his mind off of not being able to move his right foot for a long time. beth, thanks for all the encouragement. you've been very kind. we will surely keep all of you posted regarding JM's treatment. he is turning 5 on march 15. i will definitely tell dr. aguilar about your plans of giving training here in the philippines. may i ask when it is going to be? we will upload pictures of JM's first Ponseti casting on our next mail. by the way, how is AFO different from all the other braces/bars? i think this is what dr. aguilar lets her patients use after casting. til soon! best regards to all of you. cynthia --------------------------------- Yahoo!
