Guest guest
The adjustable bar is great/fabulous/wonderful! I love it as I can personally adjust/tweek the length of the bar as needed versus having to go to the doctor-especially for the first year as the little people grow soo much!! If you are use to removing the shoes from the bar to put them on or change/dress your child, it is a little harder to do so- requires a screw driver-but I love knowing I can adjust the length as needed. Guest guest
I would definately get the adjustable bar for Mason. We got the gold flat adjustable bar for Grace with her first pair of shoes (there is a pic of it on this site in the photo's section under grace) and it has been great! It is flat on the bottom with the edges bent upwards for dorsiflexion, this allowed her to pull up and start to cruise in it easily. When we got our second pair of shoes, our orthotist measured Gracies shoulders and we moved her out to 11 " . After that I felt comfortable enough to measure and move her out on my own. She is now at 13 on one side and 14 on the other - this is another great thing about the adjustable bar, it lets you move out a 1/2 inch if your child is a bit in between. & Grace 18 mos urcf FAB 13 hrs > > Right now Mason has the Markell shoes with the 7 " flat bar and he is > doing well with them. Guest guest
Kristy, The only drawback to getting the adjustable bar I can see is that depending on your insurance, you may have better luck getting them to cover the shoes if you are getting a new bar each time you get new shoes. Some companies will pay for the shoes and bar together but not the shoes by themselves. Go figure! Other than that, I would highly recommend an adjustable bar. I don't like to think how miserable I would be if everytime Sammy started complaining about his bar length I had to wait for a new bar to be ordered.
