Actually, I was listening to Mark & (LA

morning radio show - syndicated here in Portland)

the other morning and they were discussing

this. For some reason someone had said to do

this, and a woman who works in human resources

called and said that it never should be

done. Not only does she (or anyone) not

particularly care what you look like, but they

don't want to know. They cannot discriminate

based on how you look in any way so they don't even want to know.

makes sense to me. She also said not to put your

birth date on your resume either. Can't discriminate based on age.

This is interesting. I just think some employers like to put a picture with the

resume. I guess it would also depend on what type of job you are applying for.

This is big in the DC area. I have never heard of it either until my friend

mentioned it to me. I felt the same way, discriminating, etc. I still might

try it though. I'm not getting anywhere the old fashioned way. So it can't

hurt at this point.

Ya, I'd be afraid of putting my photo in there. I mean what if you look like

the chic you caught your husband in bed with last month?

LOL! Does that mean I wouldn't get the job? Or would I?

Well I'm not sure, I think I worded that slightly wrong but you get my drift.

Letting someone make a 1st impression of you via a photo could really backfire

in my opinion just because people have a lot of preconcieved notions!

Yeah, I hear ya!

I haven't tried the photo idea yet. I will see how much longer it takes me to

get a job.
