Guest guest
Sometimes it is all in the language of how the shoes/bar is coded for the insurance company. For us, " durable medical equipment " is covered, however, " shoes " are not-so we have to make sure our doc codes them this way. We also get a letter of medical necessity each time we get the new shoes. hth, kathleen > > I have seen this mentioned several times on here but we were not at > that point and I did not expect to have any problems with our insurance > covering the shoes. Guest guest
I called my insurance and asked them how the shoes needed to be coded in order for them to be covered. I had to call several times, and now have a direct dial to a person who has become my " personal representative. " She's awesome! Due to glitches in the billing system though, I just found out now how much the actual shoes cost. We're on the third pair and haven't been billed for the first two. Funny how that happens. But with our insurance, the bar is free, and we pay for 20% of the shoes. I think the key for how much you end up actually paying for the shoes also has to do with the place you buy them, and how much they mark them up. Doesn't seem like Gillette in St. marks up too much since we pay under $15 for the shoes. Seems like a pretty good deal to me! Although it was nicer when they were free.... > > > > I have seen this mentioned several times on here but we were not at > > that point and I did not expect to have any problems with our > insurance > > covering the shoes.
