Guest guest
Jenni; Actually my doctor mentioned it to me to have the WLS it took me a year to decide to have it during that year I went through Kaisers weight loss classes and went to an out side Weight loss doctor and did the fasting (didn't work) I also saw the clinic psychologist at kaiser I educated my self about the surgery and decided that I would have it because if I didn't I knew I would die. Then I told my PCP in January 2001 that I wanted the surgery and he told me he would send in my paper work for approval. Well time went on and on and as I got sicker and sicker I called my Therapist one day I was just about at the end of my rope I went in to see her she calmed me down and told me there was hope and a dim light at the end of the tunnel and it would get brighter she then had me go see the medication doctor to change my meds you know TWO days later my PCP called and told me he sent my papers to SSF for approval To make a long story short in Feb. 2003 I had surgery, all my struggles to get there has been worth it. I can pretty much do what ever I want and I have never regretted a day of it. My only wish is that when a outside doctor before I had kaiser wanted me to get this surgery I had done it. 30 years old verses 50 years old I feel like I have lost 20 years of not being obese I have missed out on so much during those 20 years that I can never get back (but that is okay I'm more than making up for it now). If you look inside your self educate yourself and know what you really want you will make the right decision for your self. What ever the decision it will be what is best for you. Take care I know you will do what is best for you. T .
