Damaris:

Here are things that are a HUGE improvement in my quality of life:

*I haven't had acid reflux since March of 2003

*I no longer live in isolation--while I've gotten smaller, my world

has gotter larger; I'm not afraid to participate in LIFE

*I don't take anymore meds for anything

*I can cut my toenails easily

*Car seatbelts fit properly

*I can buy clothes EVERYWHERE

*I can ride rollercoasters for the first time in 25 years

*If a chair breaks under me, it's because the chair is damaged, not

because I'm too heavy

*I can easily fit into a coach seat on a place

*I can run 18 miles, in a pace group of 20-somethings

*I can walk anywhere

*I can run upstairs and not be winded

*I don't have to walk sideways through BART turnstiles

*I don't worry about where I will sit on BART or a bus. If there's

no seat, I'll stand and it doesn't hurt. (I used to really worry

about this.)

*I can run after a bus, catch it, and not be sweaty

*I am never the fattest person in the room anymore

*My body looks masculine, not like a gender-non-specific blob (I no

longer have man-boobs).

*I can be more creative in the bedroom (use your imagination or NOT)

*I can fit in the tiniest booth in any restaurant

*I can take a shower faster because there's less to wash, and

everything is in easy reach

*I don't worry about breaking toilets or finding the disabled stall

*I go dancing at least once a week

*I go dancing after doing long runs on Saturday, and I dance all my

friends under the table because I'm so fit and have great stamina

*I have had no problems finding men who are interested in dating me

*For some reason, most of the men I've dated are doctors, lawyers,

business owners, professors, etc... maybe they see an inner happiness

that comes from facing a huge challenge and walking through my fear

toward success

If you post-ops have anything to add, please do so.

Life is GRAND!
