Guest guest
At 10:390 -0500 6/15/01, SweetLacy sat down at the computer, and sent this message: >I usually ignore messages where people are bitching at each other but >the comments made about liane were shocking. I thought this was a place >we could come to to get away from being called fat and etc. I thought >this was a place to be accepted no matter what our weight. It's obvious, at least to me, that the 'social worker' who is posting such uplifting messages (be sure to catch the sarcasm) has far more issues than this list should have to deal with; and she knows exactly what buttons to push and what ugliness to spew to cause the most hurt. What I don't understand is why she is even on this list if these are her real feelings. Heaven help anyone in her case load! --stella

Guest guest
My sister and best friend are both social workers.. both with Masters.. I my sister is an LMSWC in Texas..and my friend in land (an LCSW?).. there are good ones out there.. but its frightening to think that someone in the mental health field could be so hurtful. Says a lot to self- image.. tearing down others to feel better about self. Incidentally.. I never said I thought social workers were stupid. Hugs, Liane > Stella , > Ditto on that! Carolina. Please tell me,how difficult is it to get your insurance to pay for this surgery? He is soon dropping my insurance but since I have an open ended HMO.I get to choose the specialist.Did you have a long waiting period before surgery? and was it worth the wait? Any major side affects? Thanks,

Guest guest
- I had no trouble at all in getting approval (I have Great West, BTW).. I was approved in less than 10 days. I waited only a short period after approval, but that was because I changed surgeons- my first approval was with Dr. Dennis (excellent surgeon, wonderful person), but at that time his surgical waiting list was very long.. In fact, I'd probly be preparing for my surgery any day now. I switched to the LifeShape clinic in Ocean Springs, Miss., because they could have my surgery completed by the end of May. It would have been worth the wait, though- Dr. is an excellent surgeon. So is mine- Dr. Warden.. I have no regrets & would do this again in a heartbeat! The only major side effect I had was IBS w/diarrhea.. and had it been recognized as IBS, it would not have taken so long to get it under control. Even on the worst days though.. I never regretted being switched. I'll be 4 months out on September 30th, & I'm down 68 lbs. GO FOR IT!!!!!! Hugs, Liane and.. if you have any more questions.. I'm around =D > Liane , > Thats ok.......I just received a call from the surgeon that does the > Switch.Yes he called me tonight. He is in North Carolina. The only one in > N.or S.
