Guest guest
Toby, Sorry to say I have not found a chicken bouillion, but I have located a good veggie one. Rapunzel brand makes 2 varieties of Vegan Vegetable Bouillon, one with sea salt the other with no salt added. I called their 1- number and they carefully checked their ingredients list for me. I can't recall right now what their yeast was derived from, but they seemed very diligent and respectful of dietary concerns because many of their customers have gluten, casein and other severe allergies. I love their products because they have no food chemical food additives or colorings. Not what you wanted, but maybe it helps. Guest guest
The list just helps in narrowing down things so that you don't have to go through the store and look at each and every item. Even the list says that you must still check labels as things are constantly changing and people do make mistakes. It is a great resource, but not the bible. -Phyllis B. Guest guest
I looked at the herb ox cubes last night-I saw MSG but no clear cut gluten or casein on the label-however the bottle of herb ox{not cube form} listed whey-so that is a definate no.Lis aF Re: chicken boullion or flavoring?? > arent Herb Ox chicken packets okay? Guest guest
Maybe that is what I saw too-at a quick look I could have been mistaken-I am not sure about what that is either-but at any rate we dont like to use MSG either so I did not buy it. Guest guest
, I did a little research on it,and found that MAG is one way they hide MSG because it's virtually the same thing (flavor enhancer), but they then label it as being MSG free. The article I found specifically mentioned Herb Ox as one of the brands that have been hiding it and said that the FDA is getting after them for it but they refuse to change the label. I know that MSG is supposedly GFCF if manufactured in the US, but that still leaves the question about monoammonium glutamate, because it may not come from the same source.
