Nice results, Jane! How much can you chew now (6 weeks?) I'm already

craving chips.

I just updated mine as well with Day 7.

Yann,

I can't chew well at all. So far my diet consists of Dr. Peppers

(not so good but keeps me going) chicken noodle cup of soup at hand.

I swallow the noodles whole because I can chew a little but I mistake

my cheek and lip for noodles, KFC mashed potatoes with melted cheese

and sour cream, KFC mashed potatoes with gravy, KFC mashed potatoes

with chili sauce, vanilla yogurt, whole milk, tapioka pudding and

whole milk, cheese cake whip cream, blizzards from dairy queen, ice

cream from marble cream slabbery. Umm...that's about it. For now.

I can open my mouth almost an inch but think I pushed it too much

today (yelling at my 5th graders and opening wide to spoon in a

cherry blizzard) because I am having bad pains in my lower right jaw!

Jane,

It looks like all the pain and suffering paid off because you look

great! I hope I look as good after six weeks.

Sara,

Thank you. You can see a huge difference mainly in my eyes from week

3 to week 6! I was so depressed the first 5 weeks because I wasn't

prepared. After a while thanks to this board I started being more

prepared and felt more aware of what was to come next. That made all

the difference. The first week I thought 5 weeks would be an

eternity but take it day by day and it will pass before you know it.

Other than a little jaw pain and a very small opening I feel so much

more like myself and really didn't think I looked like myself until I

made my husband take my picture today. I feel a lot more swollen than

I looked in the photo. Good luck with everything and don't be

surprised if you think things aren't progressing like they should (I

questioned everything despite my dr's assurance things were going

well) I guess because I didnt feel well! But things seem to be

progressing. I bet after 6 weeks you'll look and feel great.

Katja,

Thank you so much!:) I feel better about the results now that the

swelling is getting better. My husband has said from the beginning

the results were going to turn out good (It's hard to believe him all

the time!) Thank you for calling my a cutie! She's my little

angel although she's getting close to the " curious " twos! If you know

what I mean.

Irene,

thanks, I was worried that it would be hard to post pics but it was

quick and simple actually. It only took a few minutes.

Jane,

You're very welcome :) I'm glad your husband has been confident and

supportive about the results. It's definitely scary to take the jump

and hope you come out the otherside looking ok! :) I'm still waiting

for some of that residual swelling to go down too.... I'm not quite

as far along post op as you are (4.5 weeks). My jawline is hiding

right now and my cheeks are still a bit chubby. :) Your daughter is

darling which will save her these next couple years when she has a

hard time not being Two and Terrible!! They make 'em cute for a

reason I think! :)But her curiosity must be so much fun to watch and

see her learn and wonder about everything. You must be very proud of

her.

Katja :)

Katja,

I think her cutness will take her far (with my patience :)) She is

somuch funnow. She has all the toys she could want and she is more

concerned with the toilette paper, knobs and buttons on the tv, and

tupperware! I just want all this to be over because I was so woriied

my stress and suffering would " change " her personality. But she

seems to be the same despite my face looking swollen and balloon like

and voice changing every so many weeks to muffled, less muffled,

normal. 4.5 weeks is a long time! It seems at that point for me is

when things started moving a lot faster.

Of course her cuteness will take her far. (And of course she is

cute!) Don't you know that's why the gods made babies and puppies

and kittens (and, if you must know, even baby opossums) cute? We'd

kill 'em if they weren't! (Not really. but we'd think about it

sometimes.)

And I think she's perfectly on target about her routine interests.

Bring home a box of wrapped presents, sometime. I will guarantee you

that you could put, um, a spangly bracelet in each wrapped box. But

what will interest her above all else will be the boxes, the big box

that held 'em all, and the wrapping paper and ribbons.

Doesn't matter if the spangles are diamonds and platinum, or tin and

rhinestones. Babies have a true sense of what's important!

Cammie (I'm so wise because I never had one.)

P.S.: Tee-hee! Just goes to show you that pictures are revealing in

a different way from words. I was seeing you as a long, tall,

angular, California blonde type. (I dunno why.) You're lovely. But

you don't seem the same as my mental image. Time for revision here.

On this end. I hope you're tickled with what you got. i think you

should be, and you were lovely before you started, too!

Cammie, You must have thought the tall angular blonde because of you

watching Dr. 90210!! He is married to a blonde in California. I am

the Louisiana version!! No I have always been a plain Jane! Brown

hair, brown eyes and now a slightly straighter chin and wider

straighter smile! I met my husband before he was (almost a surgeon)

Instead we were self conscience teenagers and I just had my braces

off! Who would have guessed I would be doing it all over again as

well as this CRAZY surgery!

Funny thing, I meant to email you to say I pictured you as a blonde, too!

Thanks for posting your pictures, Jane. It's nice to put faces with emails.

Now, if we could just get Katja to post her pictures!
