Guest guest
, I started the Syn-Flex then became very ill with a UTI and stomach virus (not connected with the Syn-Flex.) At first I thought I was getting sick from the Syn-Flex and threw it out. I was only on it a few days so I never gave it a fair shake. Guest guest
My doctor just started me on vioxx for what he thinks is a hip problem which is radiating into my groin. I am very concerned about using it. He has also prescribed Aciphex to be taken twice daily due to severe heartburn I experience occasionally. The hip pain/groin pain is debilitating and I cannot walk at times. Am I crazy for trying the vioxx? Thank you. Guest guest
I have severe bone on bone arthritis in my hip. My primary as well as my WLS surgeon will NOT allow me to have vioxx since it can cause sudden ulcers and our pouch is so small its not too safe to play with. I take pain meds to walk while I am waiting to have disability insurance so I can have my hip replaced, though with all the posts Ive been reading I might have a script for Syn-Flex prescribed for me to try. Just my two cents. C PS there was a posting a few days ago from someone that was taking vioxx and had to have ulcer surgery > My doctor just started me on vioxx for what he thinks is a hip problem which > is radiating into my groin. Guest guest
If I remember correctly, Aciphex is a timed release medication. Correct me if I'm wrong...but you might be better off with Nexium or Prevacid. I wouldn't touch vioxx though...for me! Since I will not take a blood transfusion, I do everything in my power to keep my blood count up, and avoid anything that will cause a bleed. If it means biting the proverbial bullet, then, so be it. I really do miss the vioxx though, as it did help my arthritis considerably. But it just isn't worth the risk to me. Guest guest
Becky, I feel your pain. I had to have my hip replaced 1 1/2 years after WLS. It was the WLS that allowed me to lose the weight in order to get the hip replacement. I was 45--often considered too young for the replacement. It has changed my life completely. It seems like a miracle to me even today. Now that I am off Celebrex, (closely related to Vioxx) I now know I have arthritis in my other hip but have been able to control it with glucosimine/chondroitin & MSM. I am seriously considering trying the Syn-flex formula I heard about here instead. I was very lucky to not have had any problems with celebrex. My doctor thought it would be safe for my stomach. Now we know otherwise. I hope you can consider the surgery. Good Luck. Diane LAP RNY 9/99 > My doctor just started me on vioxx for what he thinks is a hip problem which > is radiating into my groin.
