Lilka; Your friend sounds like he has an eating disorder and I hope he gets help for it, if he does before it ruins his life. I used to work with someone that ate then threw up she ended up in the hospital for a long time to get control of this disease. Randy said he would eat to much and stop the car on the way home and throw it up. I'm glad that I never had eating disorders to that magnitude I don't know if I would have made it. But anyway I pray that your friend learns to not do this for health reasons. Take care and I like to read your words they usually help me. so invasive. You still have your stomach and its juices. You don't need extra vitamins. But it is bad for grazers (like me) because it is very easy to graze. I have a good friend who got it in Europe. He lost over a hundred pounds. When you start gaining they tighten the band again. Since he got it, he has survived open heart surgery and a skin tightening. He is happy. But here is the bad part. After eating an enormous dinner, he goes to the bathroom to throw it up. He returns to the table to finish off what is left on his plate. He does this 11 times a day. The last I saw him, he was gaining some weight back and he said he wished he had the other RNY procedure. He had the procedure because he had a weak heart so I think it has kept him alive, even through the open heart surgery. I would not want my large daughter to have RNY as it is so drastic and she would be dependent on vitamins all her life. That is not good.

But I might approve this procedure. I would just hope she would not get into the habit of vomiting after every meal. I hope this helps. Lilka
