Guest guest
never heard of it, at least by that name. What is it? C. > Just curious if anybody in this forum has been diagnosed with this.
Guest guest
I did a quick google search on it yesterday, and it sounds very much like enamel loss to me. I know of a former work colleague who had this problem (I think from birth, and I believe she finally got veneers), and even of another who brushed her teeth too vigorously and was told she was wearing the enamel off. Maybe the author of the post can tell us more. > > Just curious if anybody in this forum has been diagnosed with this.
Guest guest
Hmmm. In that case, I remember seeing, just lately, a post from someone who'd been in braces what -- nine or 10 years? and was suffering some loss of enamel attributed to that... Guest guest
Sara, you say: " Amelogenesis imperfecta makes my mouth sound even more imperfect than it already is:-( " I do understand. Heavens, when I read all those technical terms my surgeon sent to the insurance company -- " surgical repair of a congenital, skeletal defect, " 'Bilateral hypo- (or hyper-) dysplasia of the mandible, " etc., etc., I envisioned Quasimodo, here and living on the Gulf Coast. With more than a bit of Lon Chaney thrown in! Oh well. It's fixed now. Cammie > Yes, that would be me although I've never had it formally diagnosed > as amelogenesis imperfecta.
