Were your guidelines to call if red spots were still present after 30 mintues? We were told an hour. If you were told 30 minutes, then go ahead and call. We were told that it was normal to have redness in places, but as long as they were gone within the one-hour break, then it was fine. If they didn't go away within the hour, then an adjustment is needed. If you're not sure, it's better to call and just check.

Re: Question about pressure spots

There shouldn't be any pressure points on the sideburn areas, so it is most likely just heat rash (which is totally normal, my son had it in the same area). However, it is still possible that maybe the sideburns are fitting too tightly to his cheek, so it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your ortho to be sure an adjustment isn't needed. Jake-2.5 (DOCBand Grad 9/08)Jordan-5>> Luke just received his helmet this morning and we have been doing the 1 hour on, 1 hour off. There hasn't been any pressure spots on his scalp so far. But we did notice that there are red marks on his sideburns and especially the top of his cheeks from where the STARband is resting. The sideburn marks have been fading away, but the cheek part is still there after 30 minutes. Should I bring this up to his orthotist? Is this normal?> > Thank you!> >

I've noticed that that happens with when she nurses as well. So, I'm assuming that nursing with the helmet is going just fine? Are you the one that asked this question of the group? (sorry, I don't remember who posted the question).
