Guest guest
Tressa, In my experience when I had my gall bladder removed lap, I had a really rough time. I was down for over two weeks. I had my GBS open and I have felt great the whole entire time. Some people say that the first two weeks are the worst. I look back and can't figure out what was so bad. I think it's all in how EACH INDIVIDUAL person handles things. Guest guest
Tressa, MOST surgeons don't make their patients take off as long. Thank god I have short term disabilty that pays 100% otherwise I wouldnt be off this long!!!! Good Luck Kim Tressa999@... wrote: Kim, Thanks for answering. I hope my surgeon doesn't want me to be off for 6 weeks. While I appreciate the fact that it gives you an opportunity to get accustomed to the diet and the changes in your body, I would have to delay the surgery until I have enough leave to take off that long. Plus, I'm not sure I could be away from the office that long. And after 6 weeks.....NO ONE will recognize me!!!!!!!!! Now THAT is an AWESOME thought!!! Thanks, Tressa I had lap gbs and I had no problems. I am one month out and doing FANTASTIC!!!! There was little pain and I was up and around as soon as soon as the second day after surgery. Now mind you I just turned 31 and had no other problems other than being over weight. I have a desk job too but my doctor makes all his patients take 6 weeks off. He wants everyone to concentrate on eating and healing. Not many people who have this surgery are off that long. Kim Tressa999@... wrote: Ok, here is the question I have been waiting to ask. Regarding the pain after laproscopic RNY. Relative to laproscopic gall bladder surgery...the same, not as bad or worse. I had the gall bladder surgery 4 years ago. The pain was kind of bad for the first 3 days. But after that, was very bearable. And one other question. With a desk job, how long do you need to take off of work with the lap RNY? I'm hearing 2-3 weeks, 3-4 weeks. With the gall bladder, I was told one week. I went back to work after that week, but was very week, and ended up taking off 3 more days. So............will 3 weeks do it???? I know these seem like baby questions, but I have a tendency to dwell on these kinds of things. Thanks for any answers anyone can provide. Guest guest
Hi I had the surgery March 9 and I was only off 2 weeks and the way I felt I could have gone back sooner but I needed time to adjust to my new eating habits Re: VIQ--Very Important Question > Kim, > > Thanks for answering. Guest guest
, I want to be just like YOU when I have the RNY!!! :-) I originally planned to put the surgery off until January 2005, but when someone mentioned that their health insurance will no longer cover GBS next year, I figured, why wait? What if that happens to me? Right now Federal CareFirst BCBS covers GBS and why take a chance? I'm really to roll!!!! Thanks for the good info, ! Tressa I had gallbladder surgery and the pain was much worse than the RNY surgery. I have a desk job and went back to work in 1 week. I thought if I felt bad I would only work 1/2 days for a week, but I felt great and was able to work full days. in WA --- Tressa999@... wrote: > Ok, here is the question I have been waiting to ask. > Regarding the pain > after laproscopic RNY.
