As for the hiccups, I got them also right after surgery especially after eating,

which to me meant that I was full and to not eat anymore. This helped for me.

But then it got better the farther out I became.

Stomach pain/Hiccups

I know this has been discussed before, at least regarding the

stomach pain issue. (Or, perhaps the better term would be

spasm?)

Anyway, I have a sinus infection, long story short went to doctor,

got scrip for Tequin. Scared to swallow whole, so I broke it up

and , ick, chewed it up. (Can you say rank, nasty..... enough to

adequately describe how horrible this stuff tastes?) Anyway, I

congratulated myself on how brave I am for eating the nasty

antibiotic, thinking it wouldn't hurt me. WRONG.

I was sitting here at work and started having those

pains/spasms. You know, the kind that feel like you are being

skewered or torn apart? So, I grabbed my Hyoscyamine

sublingual pain med for stomach spasms and took two, (did this

in doc's office once before.) They work!

So, next time you guys see your doc and have been having these

mysterious pains/spasms, ask him/her to prescribe this stuff

because it works, thank God.

About hiccups, I seem to get them almost every day, anyone

else?

Hiccups seem to be quite common post-op, something about the pouch

expanding to hit the diaphragm. For me, and I am 16 months post-op

too, its the signal that I have eaten enough. They usually don't

last more than a minute or so...

I always get hiccups on an empty pouch. The few times I overeat

I just feel full and miserable. And, the only times I have the

stomach spasms are when I take pills that I had never taken

before. I thought they were phantom gall bladder pains, (since I

had lap choly done in early March of this year.) But, the pain is

much more intense, awful. Thank goodness the meds work!
