Please advise. ------------------------------------ I actually like the Citracal product bcuz at least the label is accurate. I used to cut them in half. You could probably quarter them if you've got the patience. They were so dense tho, thay constipated me and I switched to a product I like much better; it's TwinLab's calcium citrate w/magnesium. Those are in capsule form, so once the shell dissolves, the calcium is readily released for absorption. I take 10 caps a day, to get 1500mg elemental (pure) calcium. Guest guest
I bought a bottle of Tropical Oasis liquid calcium....it's 1200mg as calcium citrate. Anyone ever use this stuff successfully? I'm just trying to cut down on pills. I hate huge calcium pills. It's in kind of a yogurt base, you have to refrigerate it after it's open. in Austin RNY April 1998
Guest guest
Look on the label and see if it has the USP trademark. If the USP trademark is there, it is supposed to completely dissolve in 45 minutes. You might want to try a capsule form. Capsules usually dissolve in 10 minutes. If you want a list of providers of calcium citrate in capsule form, email me privately and I will give it to you. Much easier to swallow. May have to take a bunch a day, though. If you're doing liquids or powders (or any form, for that matter) make sure that you are ingesting the right amount of pure calcium. Some labels the mgs given are for calcium citrate, which gives you not enuf calcium if you go by those mgs. Carol A
