HELEN Subject: Checking InTo: "Sarcoidosis" <neurosarcoidosis >Date: Friday, January 30, 2009, 4:52 PM Hi everyone, It is time for a roll call so please check in and let us know what is going on in your lives ........with approx 550 members, we should never have a slow day on the list....... As for me, I have been fighting a sinus infection with all this weather. We had snow flurries on Sunday, got about 6 inches of snow on Monday, another 6 inches on Tuesday and then about 1 inch last night....... ...so we have about 13 inches of snow and it is bitterly cold. I LOVE my snow, so I am not complaining, but lots of people do not like snow, including my hubby. I have always loved it but am afraid to get out in it much anymore for fear of getting sick again...... I would like to say hello to the new members. I have tried to welcome them, but I know I missed several. Same thing with the birthdays... ......hope you all had nice ones. I have been having lots of trouble with my computer.... ... it has been a really good one, but it is 5 1/2 years old and it keeps crashing and losing some of my files. I am going to have to shop around for a new one. I hate that because I really like my old one. Ok, guys and gals, I have rambled on and on, so now it is your turn! Please do check in and let us know how you are. With love to all, Darlene NS Co-Owner/Moderator
Guest guest
Hi Helen, Sorry to hear that you have been in the hospital but glad you are home now.. Hopefully you can get this acute pancritis under control and feel a little better again. I did not realize the old sarc monster has hit your eyes, lungs, brain, and caused arthritis......... Mine started in my lungs and caused lots of damage but has moved on to other areas now......and I also have the sarc arthritis. It is so wierd how it affects people differently, isn't it?? You take care and know that we all DO care about you and are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Hello to all. I have been in and out of the hospt. ER for the last 3 weeks. I haven't eaten at all and kept it down. Liquids are the same way. I have lost almost twenty pounds. Today is the first day knock on wood that I haven't been sick. Maybe it is gone???? The doctors never found out what it is. I am afraid I may have gotten into the peanut butter thingy. Who knows. Other than that all is well. Cold here no new snow but the old is looking really dirty. That usually means that it is getting close to going away. I hope so. Hugs to all and my best wishes too. You are all in my prayers. Welcome to the new member. Guest guest
ALICE,KEEP THE FAITH.ASYOUR DAY SO SHALL YOUR STRENGTH BE. HELEN Subject: Checking InTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Friday, January 30, 2009, 6:51 PM I have Sarcoidosis in my lungs, lymph nodes, Neuro sarc, along with a lesion on my brain, The bone and joint pain is unreal. The last time I went to the Neuro I was told the next step is a wheel chair, as I am already using a walker.I go for a second opinion on Monday. What gets me when people that has no clue tries to give advice, like maybe its menopause. And then there are those that had it and it resolved and I run into them and they say I must be stronger than you are, because I didn't let it get me down, I never had to take any medicine. I just smile because I know God is in control. I know where my strength lies. Many Blessings to all.Alice Minyard
Guest guest
Hi Cherisse, Yes, it is frustrating to be on steroids, but sometimes it is really necessary. Many of us have been/stillare/ on steroids for several years and yes, it does seem like you have it forever, sometimes. As for losing weight, I have heard one person on this list say that she lost her weight as soon as she was taken off steroids -- (and that is great)! But for the rest of us, we have not seemed to be that lucky. I lost about 8 lbs after quitting steroids, but I had gained nearly 60, so 8 lbs did not help much. I just cannot lose my weight and that is odd because I was alway very underweight and if I missed a meal, I could lose 5 lbs. Anyway, we wish you all the best and please feel free to browse the archives and our files section. Logs of good info there. As for the archives, I am working on cleaning out all the unnecessary files in there in order to make it faster and easier to find the answer when we search. Hugs, Darlene NS Co-Owner/Moderator Checking In Hello everyone just a little check note. The last time I saw my neurologist was the 2nd of December, a he decided to drop my steroids to 7.5 mg, down from 10 mg. When I did drop the steroids I was experiencing dizzy spells and headaches which I hadn't had in a while. But Im really scared because this year it will be 2 years since I have been on steroids, and sometimes it makes me think that maybe I might be on them forever or even life. I wish this monster will go away Has anyone lost any weight whilst on steroids? From Cherisse
