Guest guest
thats awesome that you have gained self-confidence fron the surgery! i love to hear things like that. i too am not as ashamed to have people look at my profile that is good to know about the numbness going away so much- what surgery did you have? i have been stretching and massaging my face alot to help speed along the recovery, and i definitely feel like its helping (especially the swelling). did you do anything to speed up recovery? gina > > Hello everyone, > > I haven't posted for awhile, so I thought I would give an update of > my progress from upper jaw surgery. Guest guest
, I had upper jaw surgery on Oct 12. They moved my jaw up 9mm and back 4mm. Before surgery I had a very gummy smile and could not close my mouth without alot of lip strain. How far along are you? I think what spend up my recovery was eating soft foods by week one and trying a little harder food each week. I made sure to really use my jaw muscles to keep them from tighting. I talked alot and chewed alot. I also made sure to try and practice opening my mouth as much as possiable even if it hurt a little. Lastly, I made sure to take 2000mg of vit C a day one in the morning and one at night. I was told vit C is vital in the healing process. Three months later and I am still taking it. I notice when I skip a pill my face feels a little achey. So, I figure can't be any harm in taking it still. > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I haven't posted for awhile, so I thought I would give an update of > > my progress from upper jaw surgery. Guest guest
, I was suppose to have upper and lower surgery but when my OS did my models he said my chin moved enough forward not to do lower. He said I could get a chin implant later if I was not happen with my chin after six months. So I am still debating my chin is a little recessed but not like it was before. I am hoping to get my braces off in April. About school, I just started going back to school to be an ophthalmic medical tech. My program started the mon after thanksgiving. It was a little hard in the beginning going to school full time and working full time. But the last month it has been alot better. I am 30 years old and wish I could have had this surgery when I was a teenager. I believe it would have helped alot of my self esteem issues. It still shocks me everytime I look in the mirror. Its like looking at a totally new person in the mirror, but I definitly like my new face and admire it often. Its like a dream somtimes. I am just so gald I did this. If you want you can see my before and after pics under Fry in the photo section. > > > > > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > > > > > I haven't posted for awhile, so I thought I would give an update > > of > > > > my progress from upper jaw surgery.
