Feeling Paraniod

I'm 2 months post op and was wondering if anyone else had a paranoid

feeling when you go out into the public. This past weekend I went

out to dinner and this couple blatantly turned around and just

stared at me and then yesterday when I was pumping gas I had the

same thing happen and finally I just stared back. I feel like I

have a sign posted across my forehead. So now I am constantly

looking in the mirror and am thinking my OS brought my upper jaw out

too and am wondering if everyone else is seeing the same thing?

Has anyone else felt this way after surgery?

What did you really have done, you mentioned thinking your upper jaw

was brought out...?

Aside from that, if you are no longer looking injured (i.e. swelling

and bruising all gone) then chances are you are just not confident

yet...or better yet, not familiar with the " new " you...

my looks have changed quite a bit and while I don't always realize

it, (being only 5 mths post-op) I still get a little -what the ???

when I see some staring at me...but then I recall that I do not have

a troubled profile any longer and that's not why the stare...so why?

do they think I look familiar, am I being " checked out " ;), or is

some snotty weirdo just staring at my left earlobe bec they want

to...thing is, can't figure " them " out...better figuring you out.

If you can have an honest convo with your family or partner or good

friend and say hay...how do I look, anything look odd or what not?

and if they tell you no, you're a-ok...then you have to work on

believing that. SERIOUSLY. chances are you are just not confident

what the new you shows off to the world...and I think we all went, or

are going through that, both before and after-in different ways.

Please give you a chance, I bet you're a beauty...and they were all

in AWE! ;)

I find sometimes the only way I can become more familiar with

the " new " me is to look at good and the not so good old pictures and

then a current one or the mirror. See I still see ME. yes, not so

gummy when I am cracking up! jo
