I can't seem to get past poultry, fish, pureed carrots, and spinach. FYI, Here are the only tolerated foods I've eaten since starting SCD 3 1/2 months ago: poultry, fish, carrots, onion, zucchini, spinach, yellow squash, bell peppers, avocado, eggplant, nut butter, and lettuce. I really haven't eaten much more than these items for over 5 years actually. I can't tolerate normal intro foods (squash, gelatin, beef, fruit, eggs, etc.) Which of these tolerated foods would be the easiest on the gut to add next? Are there recipes to make these foods easier to digest and more like intro foods? Thanks to anyone who responds! Guest guest
, I'm not entirely sure what help I can be but I wanted you to know that you're not the only person with this problem. I had a flare a couple weeks ago. The starter diet wasn't enough to put me in remission so I did a 2 day juice fast and was better almost immediately. I've started adding foods back in but so far I've only managed to get carrots (in the soup), chicken and gelatin (both of which I hate because I'm vegetarian) back in. I'm not entirely sure why my system is being *so* finicky. Have you tried ripe bananas? They're going to be my next test...AFTER I get back from a weekend trip to NYC. Guest guest
No, I haven't eaten dairy for years, and I haven't started eating any home made yogurt yet. I had the Enterolab test a few years ago that said I was allergic to casein, so I'm hesitant to introduce dairy, especially during a flare. Guest guest
Hello Amelia, Thank you for replying. Yes, I have been having broth every day. That is a good idea to puree the meats and vegetables with it, though. I didn't think of that. Guest guest
,Are you taking a probiotic? If you can't have the yogurt (my husband couldn't either) are you at least taking an l. acidophilus capsule? It might be a problem with yeast. If you have been on the diet for 3 + months without a probiotic replacing the pathogenic bacteria you are killing off with the diet, your yeast might be flaring and causing problems. Just a thought.AmeliaFrom: Wussow To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Thu, February 25, 2010 6:46:02 AMSubject: Re: Help Adding Back Foods Due to Intolerances After Reverting To Intro Hello Amelia, Thank you for replying.
