Guest guest
Hi Jane... I was opened up yesterday and have had the best 2 days ever! I am wearing one rubber band on each side that I can remove 3x a day for 1.5 hours each time. Keeping in mind I had no numbness and only lower- for the most part, things are OK with my mouth. I have been eating what I want, just cutting the harder stuff into smaller pieces and swallowing almost whole. I had baked ziti and that was no problem so long as the amount was small enough to fit into my half opened mouth. It's tight but I don't think it's too tight and it willl continue to open more each day. I brushed my teeth for 15 minutes yesterday. I even ate some salad. It is time consuming to eat... each bite has to be a bit manipulated and analyzed to see what direction is best to get it in your mouth. I had chinese food and I inhaled that. It was good. After a few minutes of eating if I'm not being diligent or patient enough, my jaw will start to hurt a bit. I am eating less quantity because I am eating slower but the food tastes great. I also had a pleasant surprise today.,.. After 3 years of calling people and saying " Hi, this is tova from teeze accessories " and them often responding " cheese accessories? " Today, not a single one of the 20 or so people I spoke with said that! They all heard the T the first time around! > > I am so worried now. I know the word that comes to mind is Nieve! > But no one ever warned me of any of this. The more I go through this > process the more angry i get about how little i was informed. Guest guest
I'd eat it, cut into small pieces and disassembled. It would take about 45 minutes. With one 5 minute break. > > a cheesburger is getting farther and farther from my grasps...sigh > jane > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). Guest guest
Yeah- my tongue felt trapped in a prison teeth. It's weird how " aware " of the inside of my mouth my tongue became. Now I find myself sticking it out a lot to feel the air. It feels funny- a little tingly and prickly all the time... But it still does it's job of tasting very well and that is the important thing. > > I can handle that. I even thought today just putting a piece on my > tongue would make me happy. I miss my tongue!
