Guest guest
Hi, you should demand that they see you earlier. They should be able to make space for you given the fact that your appointment needs to happen within a certain timeframe. Did you tell the receptionist that you need to be seen within 2 weeks? BTW, you said you have an overbite now. Did you have underbite before? I had surgery 2 weeks ago for an underbite and assymetry, and looking at myself in the mirror, it seems like now I have an overbite, and assymetry's still there. Is this supposed to be fixed with orthodontics? Irene. > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). I saw my > orthodontist again today for the first time since surgery. Guest guest
I just talked to the receptionist at the ortho's office. She says they are booked. I told her I had jaw surgery and I am worried that maybe I should have let the ortho do her work today and that she wanted to see me within 2 weeks and I was scared things might move. She told me she would talk to the orthodontist about it and for me to call on Tues to see if they are any cancellations. I had an open bite/overjet before. I never had my teeth meet together so I thought they were looking great but apparently now I have some overbite. > > > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). Guest guest
HI. I was opened yesterday. I asked when to go see the ortho and they said after my surgeons appointment next week ii should call the ortho for an appointment. I did notice yesterday that one of my brackets popped off but the surgeon said not to worry. I will propbably be back at the ortho about 7-8 weeks post-op. Tova > > Hi all. Guest guest
Yeah I just got a call back from my ortho's office and they are fitting me in on Tuesday 2/15. I feel so much better now. So now I see the surgeon on 2/16 and he can see what the ortho has done. > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). Guest guest
For me, it was right after the splint came out, at 7 weeks. But I only had lower advancement... And i had no trouble opening, and wasn't in pain. Also for me, the surgery had changed things so that there was a high point on one of my back molars, and only two teeth touched. My surgeon insisted that I see the ortho within 24 hours of removing the splint. C. > > > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). Guest guest
Ahhhh Tova, I can only hope to be eating chinese a few days after although I had double jaw I am remaining hopeful. I am laughing at the cheese accessories part. When I went back to work I tried to talk but found a lot of people nodding politely at me and smiling. I knew they hadn't a clue of what I said! Oh well... Keep me posted on your delicious recovery. It gives me hope. Jane > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all. I am 7 1/2 weeks post op (upper, lower, chin). Guest guest
It's not a bad thing. It was unpleasant while I was biting down on the scar tissue, but once we got that fixed I was OK. It's just that the occlusion is different, and I don't bite the same way. Nope. I don't think it's changing. I would think a deliberate break is more controlled, and thus has more predictable results. But that's just me speculating... > > It's still really soon -- and remember that those muscles have been > immobilized for quite some time, now.
