Guest guest
The book The Yeast Syndrome talks about testing for candida. A CDSA (stool test) is one way of testing. It can show candida and also if you have low levels of good bacteria it can indicate candida. Is your tongue coated? Do you have white fuzz in your stool? Those are indicators. I had white fuzz and I had colonics and the colonics giver could see tons of candida, it looks like white mucous. The way my doctor " tested " me was to put me on Nystatin, I started getting die-off like crazy and it went on for weeks. I felt a lot better. Later I had a stool test (different doctor) and it showed low levels candida (though I still had lots of symptoms) and low lactobacillus. One way of getting to see the white fuzz, if you can't see it now, would be to do something that kills the yeast and it can be nonprescription, such as taking 2 tablespoons of organic, cloudy apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, sipped, 3x/day, after a day or so if you have candida you may see the die-off in your stool. The ACV (vinegar) is a very good candida killer and also helps you digest. I got fuzzy stuff just from starting SCD, the first day or two. Whether you do tests or not, simply trying to kill it in this way can reveal if you have it. There's another thing called a candida spit or saliva test (can Google it) that you do yourself that involves spitting into a glass of water and seeing if it leaves a line of mucous. I don't know how reliable that is.
