Guest guest
Hi , I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but we're new to this diet and I'm still learning. Can you tell me the name of the chocolate chips that are GFCF and available at Walmart. I would sure appreciate it. Thanks, Rhonda Mother of dev. & speech delays
Guest guest
I just got a call back to my response asking Meijer if their semi-sweet chocolate chips are gluten-free. They are already designated parve for milk-free. The representative I spoke to said they had been in contact with the company that manufactures the chips for Meijer, and they verified the gluten-free status. Yeah! Meijer's is closer than Wal-Mart for me. I like their store brands, as they taste identical to the name brands, but are cheaper. I had contacted them before, and, while they said they did not have a list of gluten-free, dairy-free items, they said they would look up any SPECIFIC item of theirs for me if I needed it. Woohoo! They have a space on their website (http://www.meijer.com) where you can ask questions. I think I pay something like $3.29 or a bit more for a large (24 oz.) bag around here. Yippee! Also, they have an extensive health food section, and regularly carry a lot more GFCF products than any other regular grocery I've seen (for example, Willow Run Margarine for only $1.69/lb.).
