Hello Everyone,

One of my ASD/nonverbal son's strengths is using the computer. While

he cannot yet use the mouse, very weak fine motor skills, I have

taught him how to point (this was huge for us). He can identify (by

pointing, and with occasional words and sounds) and match shapes, the

alphabet, and animals amongst others much to the amazement of his

therapists. He has a harder time doing these things when in a

structered ABA environment.

In any case, we would like to build on this strength and have looked

into purchasing a touch screen monitor so he can work on the computer

independently. My questions are, does anyone have experience with a

touch screen or any other computer equipment that might be

beneficial? Know of good teaching software? Software to help

facilitate speech? Any other advice to this regard? Any feedback

would be appreciated - Thanks.

Also, I'm looking for support in the Bucks County, PA area -

specifically Lower Bucks County. Anyone???

Thanks,

Pegg Mackler.
