Guest guest
Hi, nursefrancesca. For what it's worth, a person dear to me has a g-peg feeding tube. It saved a life, but it has been painful from the installation on. From what I have been told, it's not sposed to be. Best conjecture so far: it somehow wound up sitting on a nerve. You have any ideas on that one? The patient with the tube is frightened to get it out, although there's no more reliance on it for nutrition, at least now. The installation, and every moment with it since has been painful, and when the docs or the nurses fiddle with it, (which, amazingly, they have done for no good reason -- " When I talk, I like to keep my hands busy! " ) that is, too -- although they all say there's no reason. This has nothing to do with orthognathic surgery -- nobody needs such a tube for these procedures involved with the jaw -- at least, nobody I've ever heard of. Just wondering.
