Guest guest
Fever Blisters (cold sores) are caused by the HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus 1) and are simply that -- a virus. Folic Acid is not proven to prevent them, and is not a treatment. What Folic Acid B9, does is to prevent pernicious anemia. It is possible that by making sure you don't end up with this very serious form of anemia, that it helps the immune system ward off fever blisters. If you've ever come in contact with HSV 1 and had a cold sore or fever blister, then after the initial outbreak the virus stays in your body, and a lowered immune system would make you more susceptible to other outbreaks. Stress also adds to the possiblity of reactivating fever blisters. In the MESSAGE ARCHIVES there are several articles and links that have been set up on this topic, along with ones that explain Pernicious Anemia. You'll also find several articles and links on Folic Acid. Please take advantage of this information so that you understand the importance of Folic Acid replacement. Seems like some days they listen and other days they don't. My long term memory seem to be fairly intact, where as my short term memory is Swiss cheese. I am going to try to go back to work at the end of the month, but sort of not sure how my boss and co workers will look at me. I know I am not the same as before. How does one deal with that.
