Also, are there symptoms of > vitamin deficiency outside of bloodwork? -------------------------------- Most reputable docs have a set series of labs they perform at regular intervals. Quarterly during the 1st yr, every 6 mos during the 2nd yr, and then annually after that. My doc did not include vit/min testing, and I fought tooth and nail to get it. Had to go thru 6 docs b4 I found one willing to listen who would write scrip for that kind of lab tests. There are many symptoms of vitamin deficiency outside of bloodwork. Some of them don't show up tho until way late in the game. Which is why I prefer to keep tabs thru lab tests. Some tests are not all that reliable, but I figure anything I can do to get a jump on potential problems is worth it. Find a good nutritionist or N.D. with some knowledge of WLS particulars and discuss your symptoms with him/her. Or u can check out ref books at libraries or even health food stores. I have a lot of respect for Murray and his work, but you do have to adjust the info thru the RNY filter in some cases. Sorry I don't have time to research the issue for you myself; lots of garbage going on right now and I answer almost no posts as it is. Hope you get a handle on it soon; I'm STILL trying to find out why my nails peel like onions ! Carol A
