Guest guest
Wow, that is amazing!! It is alot to carry around and until you see it or try to lift it you don't realize. Keep up the good work!! When you say your appetite has returned do you mean to pre-surgery level or are you hungry but still eating at the smaller portion? Quicky update - day 83 post-op Just a quick update for the group, this is day 83 post-op and I'm down 77 pounds. Doesn't look like I'll meet my goal of 100 pounds in a 100 days, but that's okay. As long as I'm still losing that's all I'm really after. Here's a reality check from last weekend. I went to the local Home Depot to purchase some quick cement. The bags weighed 80 pounds each. I went to pick up the first bag and could hardly lift it. After wrestling it into the cart, it dawned on me that that bag represented the nearly 80 pounds that I have dropped. Wow, I think it hit me that I have been carrying around more than three of those bags everyday in fat. My poor body could not have kept that up for another 30 years. I'm so thankful for the WLS option. I hope those that are looking into it, do some real soul searching and research. While it is a lifelong commitment, for me, the benefits, so far, have exceeded my expectations. While I still have over 120 pounds to go, I know that my life has already improved. My general attitude at home and work is much more optimistic and I'd be lying if I didn't say the compliments strenghten me to press on to my goal. Yes, my appetite has returned, but I feel I'm keeping things in check by monitoring the breads and pastas, and sticking with the high protien meals. I will put off anything else on my plate until I have had at least half of the protien. I have yet to find a long term protien shake, maybe someone has a thought on that. -Ray
Guest guest
Eating smaller portion. I cannot see myself eating the size of portions prior to surgery. At this point, I pretty much eat what I want, I just don't eat all of the serving. The trick for me is to eat slowly and chew well. > Wow, that is amazing!!
