Guest guest
Bob, when was your surgery? I'm 3 weeks postop today, and at my 1 week postop check I was cleared to start eating soft foods (chewing and everything). Was told it should help with the range of motion and swelling. I was too uncomfortable doing it with a splint, but at my next appointment was accused of being lazy (or was it my husband who said it? can't recall ). I'm wondering - is it too soon? I did not see anyone on this board who was cleared to start chewing so early. Irene. > > I must be a little different than you all. I was allowed to start my > transition to solid food two days ago. Guest guest
I'm thinking of all the things I can get in my mouth at one finger wide? The only thing is , is it too painful to eat? Guest guest
Irene, My Sx was 2 Feb. My surgeon is very conservative. Liquid diet for six weeks. Splint for 4 weeks, etc. No shortcuts. But, I like that as I am also very conservative when it comes to health. As far as being too soon. Every surgeon has different experiences to draw from and will respond differently to similar situations. The answer is not black and white. That is why they call it the " Art " of medicine. As they say in the Veterinary world: there is more than one way to skin a cat. CPTBOB > > > > I must be a little different than you all. Guest guest
10 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How does a person survive? That is twice as long as me. I'm sorry Jo. I really am. I think that is more than conservative! but they do what that have to for the sake of our smiles. jane > > > If your surgeon is very conservative, what does that make mine? LOL.
