Guest guest
Hey guys, I had surgery today removing my 4 wisdom teeth and had surgically assisted palatal expansion as well. I wore the braces before and there was a gap forming already but i dont see it any bigger after this surgery or the fact that the left side which was abit narrow to start with aligned with my bottom properly. Does this all happen subsequently with a couple turns of the key that radically moves it and then this gets closed by my orthodontist later on? Secondly, what are some nutritious foods that i can eat during the healing time besides protein shakes and herbal drinks that have superfoods in it that will make me feel unzapped ( present feeling - zapped) thanks
Guest guest
Hi, One thing I used both pre and post-op was a product called Floradix (you can find it in a good health food store) - it's a liquid iron and b vitamin supplement. It's likely this can help with your evergy levels, although it's normal to feel weak after surgery. I did not have SARPE, but it's my understanding that yes, once you start cranking the key according to your surgeon's direction, the gap will widen and yes, over time, your ortho will close it as he shifts your teeth into their proper position. As for other foods, you can blend just about anything if you have enough liquid. I had all of my favourite vegetables (especially turnip), if you can do soft foods try whizzing up things small enough so that you can just swallow them but still get the flavour. In the past, people here have even blended things like pizza and Big Macs. Hope that helps, > > Hey guys, I had surgery today removing my 4 wisdom teeth and had > surgically assisted palatal expansion as well.
