Guest guest
Bethany, I had written a long note to you and as I was about to finish correcting my typographical errors, the entire message disappeared into cyber never-never land. I waited a while to see if by chance it was posted, but it was not. So as my train of thought has been broken, I cannot exactly reconstruct what I was saying, but I'll try to give you the gist of my thoughts. When you wrote of your incredible weight loss in two weeks, know that I read it with great joy for you. That I feel this way about your weight loss success may not in any way comfort you, or provide the actual support you need to feel emotional encouragement; as I heard you say, you would have liked to see personal congratulations from the group. If you could stop a while and think about how you feel when you read of other's good news or success... and hold onto that thought and feeling for a few minutes, then you'd begin to know how we feel about you when you write to us about your success. To know and realize there are literally hundreds of people in cyber-space that do read your post and feel joy for you is hard to fathom. It is unfortunate that people do not have the time to write to each other because of our busy lives [for whatever reason], but we do feel joy for you in your accomplishment when we read your news. Now, if we could find a way to send these good vibes that we are feeling for you, to you, I'm sure you would feel the support you need immediately after your message is posted. In reality, this is probably never going to be the case, so please remember, although you may never see anything in writing, everyone matters to each other [that is obvious]...otherwise we would not take the time to read what others write. I know time is at a premium for most of us, so as someone else suggested, there are numberous support groups you could become involved in. Please don't feel like you are ignored when you don't hear back from people. I know a lot of people read the posts at work, and remember, an employer [more than likely] would frown on the employees communicating with friends during the time the employees are being paid to work at their job. I realize knowing these facts do not in any way help you to feel better about not hearing from us, but as you begin to see the reasons, perhaps you will feel less slighted, and more love which you deserve. Guest guest
Thank you Lynda for your encouragement. I have been very selfish and emotional lately. I think it is from surgery but I am not sure. I overreacted the other day and I do apologize to everyone. I now understand from your explanation the feeling that I should think of from the minute I press the post button. Now I can reflect and really understand that the way I feel for others is the same as how you feel for me. Thank you again!
